Olde Virden's Red Hot Sprinkle is the brainchild of Chris Virden. The idea came to him while operating a hike-in lodge, on top of Mt. LeConte in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with his wife, Allyson. He felt there needed to be a better option for pizza than the generic red pepper flake that is found in every pizza restaurant in America. So, Chris set off on a mission to create a perfect blend of five different chili peppers.
Olde Virden's sources our peppers from local Tennessee farmers and manufactures the sprinkle in our small family run facility in Gatlinburg. The pepper blend is a healthy and delicious alternative to hot sauce that is free of sodium, sugar, additives, or preservatives. Olde Virden's is unique in the sense that is made in small batches. The peppers are dehydrated the same day they are picked up from the farm. The product is shipped within a week of being bottled. Small batch processing guarantees our product is fresh.
We use a unique blend of five different chillies. Red Hot Sprinkle is a versatile pepper blend that can be added to eggs, chili, spaghetti sauce, dry rubs, deviled eggs, gumbo, cocktails, and even fudge. Olde Virden's brings a great flavor and a pleasant amount of heat to any dish.
