Chili / Paleo / Whole30

We are currently on day 11 of our Whole30 journey. We have been experimenting with recipes that showcase the many uses of Olde Virden's. We found this recipe on lifehealthhq.com.

We put our spin on it and used Olde Virden's Red Hot Sprinkle instead of the one dried chipotle pepper. It is delicious.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

1.Melt coconut oil in a large pot over medium heat. Cook and stir onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper until tender, 5 to 10 minutes. Stir garlic and Olde Virden's into onion mixture and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

3. Stir bison and the Whole30 compliant sausage into onion mixture. Cook and stir until meat is browned and crumbly, 10 to 12 minutes. ( You can also substitute ground beef for the meat.)

4. Stir chili powder, cumin, oregano, and cocoa powder into the bison mixture; add crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper and stir. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer until flavors are blended, 10 minutes.

* If you would like more heat to your chili, increase the amount of Olde Virden's.
